Bangalore, Apr 16, 2009: Marck Biosciences, a mid-tier maker and seller of sterile dosages pharma products and Blow-Fill-Seals, has entered Singapore and Malaysia.

Marck, based in the Western Indian city of Ahmedabad said its manufacturing facility had been approved by NPCB (National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau), Ministry of Health, Malaysia for Large Volume Parenterals, Small Volume Parenterals & Ophthalmics.

Marck, in a prepared release said it's the only Indian company to have received the NPCB approval for its Small Volume Parenterals facility.

Marck, selling drugs in some 70 countries, said it will introduce a range of small volume parenterals including Ophthalmics, Irrigation Solutions, Injectibles and Respiratory solutions, and IV Parenterals formulations in the Large Volume Parenterals in Singapore and Malaysia.

“The NPCB approval has significant implications for Marck. First, our early entry into Malaysia and Singapore opens up a large export market for our products. Second, the manufacturers of these countries can now get their brands outsourced from Marck. Third, since NPCB is a participant of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S)—which has 36 participating authorities including from the UK and Australia—the approval will help our registrations endeavor in other PIC/S member countries,” Mr Bhavesh Patel, Managing Director, Marck Biosciences said. “With the NPCB approval and the most modern SVP & LVP capacity at our Kheda (Gujarat) facility, we will efficiently cater to Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei with our vast product range. A strong marketing, sales and distribution team will be put in force by our South East Asia Head to accelerate the penetration planned. ”
