NEW DELHI: Ahmedabad-based Marck Biosciences on Thursday said its manufacturing unit at Kheda in Gujarat has got approval from Malaysia's National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (NPCB), paving way for its entry into the country and Singapore.

The approval is for large volume parenterals (LVP) (medicine given intravenously), small volume parenterals (SVP) and Ophthalmics, the company said in a statement.

“The NPCB approval has significant implications for Marck. Our early entry into Malaysia and Singapore opens up a large export market for our products,” Marck Biosciences Managing Director, Mr Bhavesh Patel said.

Since the NPCB is a participant of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), which has 36 participating authorities, including those from the UK and Australia, the approval will help Marck's registration endeavours in other PIC/S member countries, he added. - PTI
