AHMEDABAD: A manufacturing and marketing company Marck Biosciences is set to launch Paracetamol IV in plastic pack manufactured using Below-Fill-Seal (BFS) technology. Besides manufacturing Paracetamol IV, Marck will also be launching Febramol IV, a brand name of its own in India.

“Due to our proven ability to innovate and create a pack that further helped in reducing the potential for microbial infection during manufacturing and Formulation and Development (F&D) team’s dedicated efforts for 3 years, Marck has overcome the challenge of developing Paracetamol IV in Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) pack and launched this product for the first time in the world,” said, Bhavesh Patel, Marck Biosciences.

Paracetamol IV is used at the time of emergencies in the treatment of moderate pain after surgery. It is also used in the short-term treatment of fever. Paracetamol IV in plastic packs offers less breakages, lower freight costs and competitive pricing in comparison to glass bottles. The market size of Paracetamol IV in India is estimated around 2.5 million bottles per annum.
